About Maya

Maya PereraFrom an early age I cared deeply about the uniqueness of people and have been moved to action whenever I see them being aimless and lost with life. There is something inside of me that wants to empower them to identify their uniqueness and personal mission in life so that they could live a life of great satisfaction and fulfillment.

This passion was first identified by me when I began to serve with Para-Church organizations such as Youth for Christ and Campus Crusade for Christ where my work itself required me to empower people through discipleship, mentoring and coaching to help them find their own specific path to life. It was further accelerated through my education at Singapore Bible College as I read through two Master programs such as the Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries and the Master of Arts in Counselling.

Empowering people to find their direction and focus in life is one of my core values. This core value has always been a part of me, and now that I have firmly identified it, I’m able to practice it with intention and purpose as a Life Coach and Counsellor.

Professional Background

I graduated from Singapore Bible College with both a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries and a Master of Arts in Counselling.

I have more than thirty years of experience in life coaching.

I started off as early as twelve years of age as a volunteer with Youth for Christ, getting my feet into what was supposed to be mentoring individuals and life coaching in small groups. Little did I know at that age that this early exposure and equipping would later define my direction and focus in life as a Professional Life Coach and Counsellor!

After eight years with Youth for Christ, at the age of twenty I became a full time staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. There I went through rigorous on the job training for another eighteen long years in mentoring individuals, coaching in small groups, teaching, conducting workshops and trainings.

My young adult life was spent working extensively with youth, young adults and adults from schools, universities and the community at large. During these years I also travelled, connected and worked with many nationalities across the globe which has today equipped me for the work I do online.

During my adult years, in addition to setting up Maya Perera Life Coaching & Counselling, I have also served in several churches both as a volunteer as well as on the pastoral staff here in Singapore, where I live.

Currently, as a Life Coach and counselor I provide Life Coaching integrated with Counseling for individuals, couples & families as well as in groups. I provide these services to adults and youth challenged by

  • behavioral issues
